Kintsugi is the Japanese art of mending broken porcelain and pottery with real gold to make it even stronger and more valuable after it’s been broken.

She is healing, being lovingly mended. She still has a big piece of her heart missing. But she was a mere statue before. This hole in her heart makes her more open and tender to the world around her, forming her into someone who can offer an abundance of comfort and hope to others. She illuminates the beauty in brokenness and the richness found within the spaces we once thought empty.
